Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Train and mentor students according to the Flight Operations Manual (FOM) and in accordance with vision of Training Champions for Christ.Perform flight instructor duties as authorized by the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR’s) in accordance with the School of Aeronautics approved Training Course Outline (TCO).
Responsible for ensuring students are scheduled or the correct lesson in the correct aircraft and that each procedure is done according to the FOM.
Ensuring all students understand and practice all aspects of Safety Program as outlined in the FOM.
Ensuring satisfactory progress through the training course of each student.Responsible for accurately maintaining all appropriate records to include student training in MFT, student logbook records and a record of sign-offs.Initiating stage checks and requests for assigned students.
Responsible for timely course completion of all flight students assigned, including completion of required paperwork and assignment of final course grade.Monitoring the maintenance condition of the training aircraft, and inform dispatch of any aircraft maintenance discrepancy issues immediately.
Recommending curriculum and course improvements when appropriate and develop new curriculum or course improvements as assigned.
Filing safety reports as necessary on any observed safety violations, or potential situations that may affect the safety of operations.
Keeping your direct supervisor aware of where you are at during working hours. Workout schedule adjustments with your supervisor as needed.
Keeping current with continuing education: attending operations meetings, attending special training and standardization meetings when scheduled, attending other in-service training and instructor development meetings as assigned.

Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
Minimum of Bachelor degree preferred.
FAA Certified Flight Instructor, Airplane Single Engine Land (Advanced training encouraged: CFII, MEI, etc.).
Aircraft piloting skills, including familiarity with and ability to perform required flight maneuvers and procedures.
Knowledge of and ability to apply effective instructional technique in the classroom and in flight.
Knowledge of appropriate Federal Aviation Regulations and LUSOA Academic administrative, operational procedures and requirements.
