Job Description

Responsibilities:
Operates the Tribe’s helicopters. These operations will include, but are not limited to: personnel transport.
Performs preflight routine, including consulting with weather forecasts, Notices to Airmen and dispatchers, which provides the information necessary to create a flight plan.
Plans flight, following government regulations.
Inspects the helicopter airframe, power plant, rotor systems, flight controls, systems and instruments before beginning a flight.
Documents specified information in flight record, such as time in flight, destination, maintenance discrepancies etc.
Notifies maintenance and dispatching in a timely manner of any discrepancies and works directly with maintenance technicians to identify and rectify these discrepancies.
Ensures maintenance and cleanliness of aircraft.
Must adhere to all Support Services policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications
Airline Transport Pilot, Helicopter Rating certification is preferred. 3,500 hours Total Time in helicopters; 3,000 hours PIC helicopters; 100 hours external load time; Five (5) years of experience operating under Part 135; 1,000 hours of Bell/Airbus Single engine helicopter experience, 500 hours of multi engine helicopter experience and Night Vision Goggle experience, Instrument/ATP.

Additional Qualifications:
Knowledge of all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
Knowledge of all applicable regulations contained in CFR 49 Hazardous Materials.
Knowledge of helicopter operations and related subjects including; navigation, weather, communications, and instrumentation.
Knowledge of flight theory and flight planning.
Ability to work unsupervised.
Ability to operate helicopters in adverse conditions, day or night, on or off airport.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with various departments within the organization.
Demonstrated skills in aerial application using helicopters.
