Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:
Assumes command and responsibility for the aircraft, crew and passengers for all phases of flight and is the final authority for the operation of the aircraft (FAR91.3). The PIC may not delegate this authority.
Direct and supervise assigned Crewmembers in the performance of their duties.Ensures the assigned aircraft is airworthy and that all required documents are onboard the aircraft.
Conduct the flight in accordance with all applicable FAR's, ICAO or host country rules and the procedures set forth in the GOM.
Responsible in conjunction with the person exercising first tier operational control, for ensuring that the maintenance and inspection status of the assigned aircraft, as shown in the aircraft dispatch material, is current and that required maintenance actions or inspections will not come due before the planned completion of the flight back to the main maintenance base or other facility where the inspections can be accomplished.
Is responsible for ensuring that MEL deferred maintenance items, if applicable, do not affect the operational capability of the aircraft.
Shall not depart on a flight with a known maintenance discrepancy unless that discrepancy has been cleared; or deferred in accordance with an FAA approved MEL.
Shall not continue a flight if the aircraft is believed to be in an un-airworthy condition.

Minimum Requirements

Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Multi Certificate or Commercial Multi Certificate (essential requirement)
800 hours total time required (military exception) (essential requirement)
50 hours multi-engine required (100 hours preferred) (essential requirement)
75 hours instrument actual/simulated (100 hours preferred) (essential requirement)
75-100 hours in the last year preferred (essential requirement)
Preferred turbine experience (essential requirement)
FAA First Class Medical Certificate (essential requirement)
Valid and Current Passport (essential requirement)
