ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists Manager, Aviation with company flight operations to include, but not limited to; personnel training, scheduling, maintenance, and safety/emergency management.
Operates assigned aircraft in accordance with safety requirements, aircraft flight manual, and company and departmental policies.
Completes administrative duties including necessary paperwork, reports and analysis of department and functions.
Transports staff members and retrieval teams to and from donor recovery locations.
Delivers tissue typing materials to Laboratories.
Delivers organs to transplant centers.
Transports staff members on administrative flights approved by Chief Executive Officer.
Maintains current pilot certificate and qualifications.
Develops and maintains effective communications and professional relationships within the company and with support organizations.
Participates actively in the company Quality Management Plan and department Safety Management System to identify risk areas and recommend strategies to minimize risk and achieve targeted outcomes.
Actively participate in, and contribute to, the realization of the organizational goals.
Actively participate in and support Safety Culture which ensures strict adherence to all policies and regulations.
Performs other duties as defined by the Manager, Aviation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Airline Transport Pilot License, fixed-wing multi-engine land aircraft and appropriate flight experience in the make and type of aircraft operated by the Midwest Transplant Network required. Required airman physical must be acquired and maintained. Must meet the minimum aircrew requirements for pilot in command.
Minimum 2500 total flight hours of which, 1000 are in jet turbine aircraft, 1000 in multi-engine aircraft, 1000 PIC, and a type rating for a CESSNA 525 or similar.
Must be able to obtain 525 type rating within 6 months of hire required.
Undergraduate degree in aviation management or similar business/management concentration preferred.
Proven ability to lead a team, coordinate internal and external resources and achieve measurable results against goals.
Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational, problem analysis and decision-making skills.
Demonstrated ability to motivate peers and achieve cooperation.
Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and participate in 12-hour call, including evenings and weekends. Required to work for extended periods of time with few breaks.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with motor vehicle policy. Must have reliable personal automobile transportation to be used with company reimbursement using IRS guidelines.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and transfer short distances.
Possess manual dexterity sufficient to operate telephones, computers and all required airplane equipment.
Ability to speak and communicate clearly in order to accurately convey information whether in person, over the phone or aircraft radio.
English proficiency required.
Vision correctable to meet pilot qualifications.
