Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as the secondary point of contact with the FAA regarding operational matters and compliance.
Regularly review flight data and pilot performance to identify areas for improvement. Implement programs or checks to track improvements.
Develop, implement, and oversee pilot training programs, including recurrent training, line checks, and proficiency checks to ensure all pilots maintain the necessary skills and qualifications.
Ensure availability of current aeronautical charts, required publications, and documents.
Conduct regular pilot meetings.
Designate sufficient check airmen to ensure all flight crews conform to standard procedures as outlined in applicable FARs and company policies and to ensure that all pilots maintain current route qualifications and receive proficiency checks as required by the FAA and the Company.
Maintain PIC qualification in at least one (1) model or series of aircraft on the Air Carrier Certificate, and flies as a crewmember as needed or requested and maintains a First-Class Medical.
Assist Scheduling with assigning pilots to flights based on qualifications, fatigue management, and regulatory requirements.
Manage vacation approval process. Coordinate with pilot for any scheduling issues and offer secondary options.
Collaborate with the maintenance department to monitor aircraft serviceability and ensure crew will be in position for timely recovery of aircraft.
Investigate any incidents or near misses with the safety department, implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Identify and select qualified pilots to maintain staffing levels.
Foster a safety culture within the flight operations team through communication and proactive risk management.
Exercise authority to initiate, terminate, or divert flights when necessary due to safety concerns.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
Pilot in Command for 3 yrs. in last 6 years in Part 135 or 121 operation. Or previous Chief Pilot.
Qualified as Pilot in Command of one aircraft operatedAbility to travel internationally without restrictions.

Ability to understand a high-level aspect of maintenance status and cost.
Knowledge of AOG items and of basic maintenance terminology.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business practices, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to choose the right mathematical method or formula to solve a problem and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
