Responsibilities:
Maintains currency and flight proficiency as a Pilot-In-Command in at least one type of aircraft operated by the company
Function as supervisor to Assistant Chief Pilots assigned by aircraft fleet or types of operations, when such are designated.
Exercises supervisory control over all pilot interviewing, hiring, counseling, and termination
Exercises supervisory control over company check airman functions
Develops and provides detailed guidance for execution of company check airman functions
Maintains currency and proficiency as a company check airman in at least one type of aircraft operated by the company
Develops and maintains flight standards policies and procedures
Exercises adequate oversight to ensure flight crew compliance with flight standards policies and procedures
Communicates with FAA representatives regarding flight standards policies and procedures and reporting of actions taken by flight crews in the case of non-routine events
Assists Flight Operations/Dispatch personnel in crew selection and pairing, flight operational decision-making, and provides solutions for technical issues that arise in the course of flight operations
Participates, and acts as an advisor, during staff meetings of instructors and check airmen
Assists the Training Dept. with outsourced training provider oversight and auditsParticipates in certification activities for new flight operations programs and capabilities
Conducts research and development of policies and procedures for compliance with new FAA and industry requirements

Qualifications
Required:
Must hold ATP certificate
Must meet the minimum qualifications of 14 CFR Part 119.71
Must possess a thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs)
Must possess a working knowledge of FAA policy and guidance documents
Ability to travel extensively and conduct oversight activities
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security clearance
Ability to be available to work or be on call beyond normal office hours
Must have demonstrated leadership abilities, interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
Must not have any FAA violations, suspensions or any criminal history
Must possess a valid U.S. Passport and the ability to travel unrestrictedHigh School Diploma
Preferred:
FAA Class I Medical Certificate
Previous experience as Chief Pilot or related air carrier management experience
Previous air carrier experience as aircraft and/or simulator instructor and check airman
Knowledge and experience with CRM, risk management, Safety ManagementSystems (14 CFR Part 5), and development of standard operating proceduresPossession of a type rating or prior flight crew experience in one or more aircraft types operated
