Works within the company to maintain a culture of safety with efficient procedures that support customer service.
Retains final authority for the safe operation of the aircraft and that all the proper documents are on the aircraft.
Directs the activities of the Second in Command ensuring that flight crewmembers understand fully and completely what duties they are expected to perform.
Makes decisions, as necessary, to the start, delay, or cancellation of the flight, or deviation from a planned destination when operating conditions dictate.
Prepares or supervises the preparation of the flight plan taking into account all legal and safety of flight considerations.
Performs tasks associated with operating the aircraft including, but not limited to, lav service and loading baggage.
Ensure all flights are operated in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Aviation Regulations (“FAR”)
Ensure all operations, maintenance, and record-keeping comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations
Ensures that a flight plan, or other authorized flight locating procedures, is followed on each flight.
Reports all known or suspected FAA violations or incidents promptly to the Chief Pilot.
Ensures that crewmembers brief all passengers with the appropriate briefing for each phase of flight.
Ensures all required passenger ground handling and transportation is in place.
Responsible for custody and care of disembarking passengers and crewmembers until accepted by the state of entry on international flights.
Completes relevant trip paperwork at the conclusion of the flight.
Works with Scheduling and Maintenance regarding flight assignments.

Must have 500 hours PIC in any aircraft requiring a type rating or 1000 hours SIC in any aircraft requiring a type rating.
