Falcon 8X & 900EX EASy PIC (Part 91 Only) based in Oakland, California for a full time position.
Assist with pre-flight planning, crew member compliance, safety condition assessment, and with passenger services.
Ensure that executive travel needs are met in an efficient, secure, and timely manner.Ensures that the aircraft is airworthy and registered;
Ensures that all required manuals and documents are on-board company aircraft and current;
Ensures the flight deck and associated areas are organized and neat;
Obtains an appropriate weather briefing and checks all applicable NOTAMs where available;
Determines oil and oxygen requirements;
Verifies that the fuel load is appropriate for the trip;
Determines the aircraft weight and balance;
Ensures databases are current;
Ensures that flight plans have been received and that all flight-planning requirements have been met;
Confirms any nonstandard environmental rules and procedures at the intended departure and destination airports;
Ensures that aircraft crewmembers have valid licenses, medical certificates, passports, visas and training certificates;
Ensures that the flight will not be commenced if a crewmember is incapacitated from performing duties by any cause such as injury, sickness, fatigue, or the effects of any psychoactive substance;
Reviews passenger itinerary with Scheduler to confirm elements requiring action by the company calling ahead to ensure a pre-booked rental car is waiting at the airport, etc.;
Orders catering during long trips, according to the choices and instructions noted on the Trip Sheet;
Obtains a daily copy of newspapers; Assists passengers with loading their luggage;
Completes an aircraft preflight inspection before each departure.
Continually monitors the amount of usable fuel to ensure a safe landing with appropriate fuel reserves and communicates with the company during abnormal situations;
Ensures that the flight will not be continued beyond the nearest suitable airport when a crewmember's capacity to perform functions is significantly reduced by impairment of faculties from causes such as fatigue, sickness, or lack of oxygen;
Ensures compliance with customs, immigration and cabotage laws;
Notifies Maintenance and/or Scheduling / Dispatch, as appropriate, of any departure / arrival time changes or deviations;
Confirms Corporate Security is notified of any significant change in: - Itinerary; - Passenger manifest; or - Leg sequence.
Reports all known or suspected FAA violations or incidents to the Chief Pilot and/or Manager, Aircraft Operations as soon as practical;
Reports any act of unlawful interference to the FAA or State (Mandatory Occurrence Report), as appropriate, and to the designated local authority;
As soon as possible, reports to the appropriate company facility any hazardous weather or flight conditions encountered that are likely to affect the safety of other aircraft;
In the event of an accident / incident, preserves flight and cockpit voice recorder data;
Notifies the appropriate authority, by the quickest available means, of any accident involving the aircraft (except where the PIC is incapacitated, when it will become the responsibility of the Manager, Aircraft Operations or senior flight crewmember);
Assumes any duties delegated by the Chief Pilot.
