The DHC-8 IP/PC will maintain Pilot In Command (PIC), IP, and CP qualification in the DHC-8 and any special mission capabilities associated with DHC-8 flight operations. The incumbent will be available to function as PIC, as needed, in both revenue and non-revenue flight operations, domestically and internationally.
Provides ground and flight training and ongoing mentoring as assigned for IP/CP candidates’ initial qualification, recurrency and requalification curriculums and modules in accordance with the company Pilot Training Program for the DHC-8.
Provides classroom instruction, flight instruction, and pilot testing in special operations/special missions capabilities (e.g., Radar Approaches, Night Vision Goggles, Aerial Delivery, etc.).
Provides classroom instruction in both aircraft and non-aircraft-specific subjects including non-aircraft-specific subjects delivered for pilots not assigned to the incumbent’s base aircraft type(s).
Provides pilot flight instruction in flight training devices, simulators, and aircraft as assigned.
Administers oral, written, and practical testing of pilots in accordance with the company training program, and appropriate testing standards.
Completes, with timeliness and accuracy, all required documentation following training and testing activities.
Assists the Director of Training (DOT) in researching, evaluating, and implementing new or revised training systems, policies, procedures, and techniques.
Codifies standardization areas and topics as liaison between Chief Pilot and DOT.
Provides subject matter expertise and liaison between line-of-business and field units and the DOT for validation and verification of training programs and protocols.

Must possess Airline Transport Certificate; Airplane Multi-engine Land (ATP-AMEL).
Must possess a Class I Medical Certificate.
Must possess a thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
Demonstrated leadership abilities, interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
Must possess valid Passport.
Ability to acquire and maintain, or currently hold, an active Secret Clearance or higher.
Preferred Experience:
Type rated in the DHC-8.
Prior experience in Night Vision Goggle (NVG) operations and aerial delivery.
Preferred location within driving distance to San Marcos Regional Airport (KHYI)
Possess a good working knowledge of office suites computer programs.
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
Be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., perform assigned pilot duties involving confined sitting for up to 10 flight hours per day and be exposed to a wide variety of environmental and weather conditions while working outside including, but not limited to, extreme heat, cold, and adverse weather conditions.
Be able to travel to accomplish training and job duties.
Be able to work in a variety of environments including indoor, outdoor, and austere operating environments within hostile areas of operation that may include threats from enemy combatants both in the air and on the ground.
