RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor quality of flight training through stage checks, flight instruction as assigned, and flight instructor supervision.
This responsibility will include some Saturdays.
Serve as a mentor for flight instructors as assigned.
Maintain an understanding of current technologies applicable to the courses being taught.
Provide leadership in the development and improvement of the flight training courses.
Actively pursue relationships with students, faculty, and staff encouraging the accomplishment of the purpose and mission of and the School of Aviation and Aeronautical Science.

Minimum professional qualifications are:
B.S. degree in Aviation
Commercial pilot airplane – single-engine land with instrument rating
Certificated flight instructor airplane – single-engine land, instrument airplane
Meets14 CFR Part 141 experience requirements for an assistant chief instructor for Private, Commercial single-engine, and Instrument certificates and ratings.
Ability to work effectively in a team relationship with flight instructor staff and within the community
Desirable professional qualifications and experience:
Commercial pilot airplane – multi-engine land with instrument rating
Certificated flight instructor airplane -- multi-engine land
Significant tailwheel flight experience
Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
Experience creating leaders
121/135 experience
Aerobatic or upset training experience
